Good morning Richmond AND an E-Design

As promised, this post is coming to you LIVE from the 804. VA, we have arrived. Loving it so far, but what is not to love? The hell (unpacking) ensues today. Lawwwwddd. Let's focus on the pretty. So my latest e-design client lives in Dubai. No kidding. I am dying to go to Dubai. Is anyone else? I have this vision in my head that it is a magical place full of gold, fashion and over the top adornment. A Vegas of the Middle East. Any way, she is absolutely fabulous. My first concern was how we would be able to incorporate design elements that we have here in the States, into her design? She had me covered. Let's put it this way, this was not her first rodeo. She already had a forwarding 3rd party address here where things can be shipped to, and then shipped to Dubai from there. Girl pulled out all of the stops.

She and her husband are expecting a little one, and wanted to get a sanctuary designed and implemented for themselves before their new addition makes its way into the world. They love pops of color but also love classic pieces. I wanted to give them a good mixture of the two in a design that will carry them through the years. Here she be.
Just to give you an idea of the space that we are working with, here are some before pictures:
Have any of you ever seen the HGTV show House Hunters? If you have, have you ever seen an episode where they are looking for housing in Dubai? Does this not look exactly like all of the spaces they show? I was trying to explain this to my client but she had no idea what I was talking about. Probably was thinking "Crazy American."
Luckily for me, we have good bones. I cannot wait to see the finished product. It is going to be amazeballs, just like her! Loves!

  2. I just love this! I'm obsessed with navy right now. It's funny, I love house hunters but hate HHInternational. I curse the tv when it comes on. So annoying that its always some weird couple from the midwest looking to buy a love shack in costa rica.

  10. I just found your blog a few weeks ago and have loved, loved, loved it every day. Just saw that your officially in the 804 hood, which is where I reside. What a small world. Welcome to the big city (not), but RIC is a lovely place to raise the kiddies. Hope you guys are happy here. Im in the middle of starting my own design blog (not even close to finished I am technologically challenged to say the least and my day job as a lawyer keeps getting in the way) and am dabbling in the decorating world, ie I help friends for free. I love your style and think its awesome that you are clearly doing what you love. Let me know if you have any questions about Richmond. Ive been here my whole life so Im happy to share some insider secrets!

  17. Welcome to the 804. If you ever want to hang out (aka: have wine) with some other RVA bloggers, we'd love to have you join us for a blate. We have a great group of girls who are all super sweet and very supportive of each other's blogs. We try to meet every other month or so for drinks and a good dose of girl time. Have a wonderful weekend getting settled. The weather forecast couldn't be more perfect.

  18. I think they might need a Lindsay Cowles original textured all white painting in that room :)

  19. "I love the serene and sophisticated ambiance of this coral-and-navy bedroom! The coral accents add a pop of vibrant warmth, while the navy creates a calming, timeless backdrop. It's a perfect balance of bold and soothing colors that makes this room feel both inviting and elegant."
