So, who doesn't need a solid toupée for their floors? I mean really. Fine. Rug as you normal people call it. I for one have floor art on the brain considering I will be needing to adorn all of my floors with some toupées (rugs). I cannot seem to stray from the Oriental/Persian/Kilim vibe. I just die over all of the intricate pattern, color and depth at play here. It adds to a space in a major way. Here are some that I am currently obsessing over. Oh and just so you know. If any of you are super interested in these, act fast. Some of them are on sample sales. Just sayin'.
From Left to Right: Anatolian Kilim/Ranga Kilim/Hoseinabad Runner/Kolyai Red/Hamadan Dark Blue Runner/Magenta Turkish Kilim/Vintage Hand Knotted/Dark Pink Oriental/Overdye Seville Rust
In other sample sale news. I have been browsing, stalking, the new Shorely Chic Curator's Collection on Joss & Main and totally keep coming back to the fact that I need a Peacock Chair. Why? I can't ever explain the impulses. They just happen. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I passed up two just like this at Goodwill about a year back for the bank breaking price of $20. Total. Ultimate fail, Linz. Just imagine this piece with a custom cushion. I mean really.
May the seat be adorned in one of these jazzy numbers. Equipped with alternate color piping, of course. Of course, ladies.
A funky twist on a modern print.
A few other items that I am lusting after this week and pretty much have decided that I either need on me, or in our home.
On me...
As a rule of thumb, I am not generally a lover of hats. But this one has glitz. This one has glamour. Therefore, I might make an exception. Vacation, people.
My girl Natalie recently introduced me to this fabulous line called Pippa. Well here is one of the products and I have decided it needs to live in my closet. Permanently.
In our home...Framed of course.
I know this is all the rage, and now I need it. Both for reading pleasure and coffee table styling.
Has everyone picked up their copy of Domino Quick Fixes magazine? It was the best $10.99 I have spent in ages. And I definitely have spent $10.99 a time or two. I have gone back to this baby several times for leisurely reading. I am so glad this publication is making a comeback. What did we EVER do without it? Serssley.
Also in reading news, what is up with this Fifty Shades of Grey book everyone is gabbing about? I must know. Is it worth my time, peeps? I trust your opinion. I rarely trust 5 star online reviews. So speak lovelies. Do I need this in my life?
Oh and what is Stella up to? She is always putting her two cents in. Here she is, blogging up a storm. Excuse me. I stand corrected. Here she is tweeting. This dog. I swear.
The end. The end. I hope all of you have a fabulous Thursday. PARTY PEOPLE (reminiscent of the jam "Whoomp There It Is") weekend on the horizon. Which means packing AND mint julep margaritas for me.
So obsessed with those rugs. I recently snagged one from my parent's house and put in our entryway. And I'm never returning it. Ever. It's got me wanting more. I want a framed scarf like whoa. Of course vintage hermes or gucci would be preferred but I'm happy to resort to any old pretty one I find.
ReplyDeleteDon't ever give it back. Looting from parents is underrated. We will find you a scarf!
Deleteso much i want to say right now, so little time. the rugs. beautiful. love the vintage hand knotted and the seville overdyed. umbra gingham...get out of here with that! anthro pillow...totes pinned that sucker yesterday-- does it get any better than that? (i hope he finds a place in your new home!) that's it...for now : )
ReplyDeleteI know. I cannot quit warm colors. Clearly.
DeleteLoving the two rugs on the right. My parents have tons of those thru out their house but they are all too big for my space. Maybe I could figure out a way to turn one rug into three. Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteOh definitely! There is room for any of these in any space. You make room! :)
DeleteWith you long time on the toupee/rug front- I had some carpet 'expert' tell me the other day that Persians were so out - I almost barfed in his face- ADORE them! Also..I need to read that racy book.
ReplyDeleteBahahahah. OMG. I am dying. Seriously. We need to tell him he is so out. That is the most ridiculous thing I have heard in 2012.
Deleteoh man oh man oh man. I seriously have dreams about rugs like those in an all white and grey kitchen, pops of green? Yes please! and those chairs, why do we ever pass up things like that, it is the worst, haunting really.
ReplyDeleteLove this post! I want it all... Persian rugs, the peacock chair, those sandals, that hat! Love it all!

I am mortified to admit that I read all of those books in less than I week (that's why I'm posting anonymously). I skipped sleeping, eating, hanging out with people so I could finish these books. It is not great literature mind you, but it was hot in an illicit "tell no one" way.
ReplyDeleteAnd you my friend, sold me. Let your freak flag fly! No judgers here! I love a good smut book from time to time. What can I say??
DeleteLove the IKat fabric. That pillow is great too.
ReplyDeletePretty sure I need about all of those rugs. And a peacock chair.
ReplyDeleteFirst off, passed on one of those peacock chairs a few weeks ago at salvation army...hating myself ever since! Second, the book is super steamy...as in...I couldnt read it when my children were in the vicinity because it just felt wrong. Highly recommend for women who are in a marital rut...sure to spice things up!!!
ReplyDeleteI love me some persian rugs. The colors and patterns are tdf. I have yet to get my Domino magazine but "oh I will" and I saw the vintage remix book at a book store,it is now on my must list.
ReplyDeleteI love that marbled amethyst fabric!! Such great finds you shared today!
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain on those peacock chairs...I passed up one that was practically FREE a few months ago because my husband thought I was crazy for wanting it!!! That should teach me to listen to him because now I am kicking myself!! On the other hand, the book=amazing but it is definitely raunchy to say the least...but I read the triology in like 1 week because I couldn't put them down!!

I have had "Whoop There It Is" in my head all day, and I just remembered that this is your fault. Also...mint julep margaritas???? For real??? How have I never heard of such a thing? (The finds were also fabulous, but I feel like that pretty much goes without saying, oui?)
ReplyDeleteI hope you buy the blouse, I love mine. And yes I need a peacock chair and every single rug pictured, that is not too much to ask right?? So I bought Shades of Gray but my mom wanted to borrow it first since she was going on vacay. Of course I obliged but now my friends are like umm you just let your mom borrow a porno. Well I will let you know how she likes it:) I guess she will just think I like kinky books.
ReplyDeleteI might have to get that orange and pink ikat fabric! So pretty!
ReplyDeletePeacock chair- must have they just make me think of the beach and with the marbled amethyst it would be fab! I still haven't gotten my Domino- I'm dying!! It's been sold out at 2 places I went to so I'm trying again tomorrow-fingers crossed! I read all three fifty shades book in one week they are so so dirty but so so awesome at the same time! Pick them up now.
ReplyDelete#1 - that purple marbled fabric is TDF
ReplyDelete#2 - I cannot wait to hear your thoughts on 50SoG. I read all three in less than a week and was all forgot-to-eat-dinner-come-right-home-and-dive-in-stay-up-until-4-am kinds of into it :)
