Get the Look

Loveliest of ladies! How was your weekend? What's that you say? Never long enough? Amen to that. So before we get started, major thoughts and love to Stella today would be great. She has to get surgery today on her poor ear for the second time due to her getting in a dog fight. The poor thing wants to scrap, but she just can't. She is writing checks that she can't cash if you catch my drift.

Sooooo. Let's talk about this lovely little image that I came across below. So it is in the home of none other than Whitney Port. If you do not know who that is, you had more of a life than I did about 8 years ago when "The Hills" was on the air. She was on the cast of should have been Emmy nominated series. (Seriously people. Worst show to ever air on television.) Anyhow, the good thing that transpired out of that show was Whitney's unapologetically cool style. I mean check it out. Even her home is super chic.

I mean who cannot love that little vignette? So much that we just HAVE to get the look. Amirite ladies? Let's do this.

Don't hate the player, hate the game...

So today I am pumping you people up, because that is my job. I came across this image the other day and instantly thought I was looking into the mirror. Why? Because this is how I see myself. A baby rocking it in oversized sunglasses and a one of a kind headpiece. She is doing this while taking a leisurely cruise on a boat adorned with fabulous pom pom trimmed curtains. I mean, why not? So, so chic. This baby doesn't give a shit and we shouldn't either. People love to hate and that is when you know you are really doing something extraordinary with your life. Do what you do and drown out the noise. Haters gonna hate. Those are my profound thoughts for Wednesday. Be a baby. On a boat. Be ridiculous.

Lindsey Coral Harper

I mean what is not to like about this girl? She's a ginger (like me). And ahem, her name is Lindsey (like me, only alternate spelling and I will not get into my personal preference of spelling because that can spark a heated debate). Lindsey Coral Harper is most definitely my design crush. I fully admit it. Her NYC apartment was most recently photographed by the biggest publications in the design world, House Beautiful and Elle Decor. Wow and wow. I put a conglomeration of both shoots together so you could see both Lindsey's fun collections of zebra and malachite accouterments. Brilliant.

Pillow Fight

What up, y'all? Did you have a fantastic weekend? Mine was predominately spent putting the final touches on my house for my photo shoot today. Whoop whoop! The wait is finally over for y'all. I am sure you were getting sick and tired of waiting on little me to get all of my ducks in a row on that one. Rest easy, it is all coming your way. Cross my heart.

So today we are having a chat on pillow arranging. I know this stumps some, but there is really no rhyme or reason. Keep it symmetrical or make it eclectic and mix it all up. When I am aiming for symmetry, I always like to add in a colored throw for the pillows to be mirrored around. Let's do this. One sofa, two different ways.

Get the look: Sofa/Trellis/Geometric/Throw
Too predictable for you? Ok let's keep you on your toes. How about tying it all together with being in the same color family but building off all different patterns? I am talking floral, polka dots, plaid and stripes. Yes it can be done and I just did it.

My mind looks like...

This. This is what the inside of my mind looks like today. Weird and preppy. Preppy and weird. I recently came across the store Graybill and Downs and this majorly quirky and bizarre piece of art. Naturally, I felt at first sight that I needed it. It's unapologetically rowdy and inappropriate which is the basis of my being. Let's be real.

I am coming down from a major weekend in the big D with my girl Sam. I cannot even tell you how much fun we had from the moment we were reunited until the moment we were pulled apart. Sun, warmth, ridiculous laughter, shots, shopping...What more could you want? We even got to meet the amazingly beautiful and talented Albertina. Cannot tell you how sweet and adorable she is. If you don't know her, you best get your head out from under a rock. I am slowly getting through this winter season by taking as many trips as possible. You all understand. Full recap on the Dallas trip later this week. Happy Monday my sweets.

Boho Chic

I used to think I couldn't pull off the whole boho chic vibe but then I realized I don't give a shit and I can be anything I want to be. That is the true definition of boho chic. This with that. That with this. Boho chic has so many different meanings to me. Boho chic is a lifestyle. It is a carefree attitude where anything goes. I mean rolling around town in a beater truck, tracking down fast food restaurants for the greasiest of cuisine (boho) accompanied by a cocktail that contains vodka (chic). This is all me, sans flip phone. Oh and enter apparel equipped for the tundra.

Everyone needs a little boho in their home. Trust me when I say. You will love the cool, lackadaisical feel it adds  to your space. Listen to this newly converted boho bitch.

Monday Musings: Doors on the Interior

What up y'all? Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Festivus, Happy New Year and all of that jazz. I have missed y'all but have to tell you, I have been bogged down like none other. It has been difficult for a sister to sit down and get her blog on. So you are going to have to bear with me in this minor transition. Oh and did I forget to mention, my house is about to be featured in a magazine so get yourselves excited about that. Oh and possibly another business venture on Sadie + Stella that I think you all might slightly psyched about. Tell me I am forgiven? Stay tuned.

Today we are chatting about doors on the interior. I have to tell you, there is nothing more glam to me than a room separated by some serious french doors. How about painted french doors? It is delineated, but it's not. You can see through the other side, but there is still mystery. I don't know ladies, it's just like the boy that you find intriguing and you desperately want to know more about. You feel? Let's check it.
