Shop KC Local: HMK

You guys. You know I love a KC Local post like woah. So for those of you who are not aware, Hallmark is based out of Kansas City and they have recently stepped up their gifting game and opened HMKHMK is a one stop gift shop that has the variety you need for any shopping trip. I am talking culinary accessories, home decor items, gifts for the bros, the gals, the kids and even the necessary gift wrapping accessories. On point, y'all. So I decided to go in and see what this was all about and treat it as a one stop shop for the peeps I still needed to cover for the holiday season. (Don't tell them I am running behind). Let's check it.

Gifts for the bros...
 Gifts for me...isn't that allowed?
More gifts for me....these are Kate Spade lookalikes my dears. For a better price point, ya heard?
 Gifts for the KC lover...
 More gifts for me...again.
Of course we have a Kate Spade tribute wall. This is KC, folks. We made Kate Spade.
So here is what I ended up with. Couple gifts for the gals, a flask for a bro in my life and maybe a gift for me.
A gift, ok maybe two, in action for yours truly.
If you are in KC, I suggest you check HMK. If you reside in the big D (Dallas) or the not so big D (Denver) you have lucked out and can check it out there. Happy last minute shopping, loves!

Flashing Lights, Lights

I mean we all know the song by the talented lyricist Kanye West, Flashing Lights. No? "She don't believe in shooting stars, but she believe in shoes and cars." Ahem. You are speaking my language, Yeezus. So, I may be late to the party here, but I am totally into the neon sign art, y'all. Especially the messy cursive, over the top neon sign art. I am not saying it is always space appropriate, but we can all dream that we live in an apartment in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Anyway, slap a profound statement on to your wall in neon light form and it is just the unexpected flair that your space has been longing for. Flashing. Lights, lights.

The cutest "ugly" Christmas sweater you ever did see

You guys, I am going against everything I believe in today. Listen. When I am notified that I will  be partaking in an "Ugly Christmas Sweater Party" I shudder. "Ugly" and "Lindsay" just do not go together. I don't do "ugly". So when I have no choice in the matter, I bring it and I bring it hard. This is the cutest "Ugly Christmas" sweater situation you EVER did see. So I have pulled a few combinations to ensure that you are wearing the ugliest Christmas sweater in the absolute cutest way possible. You're welcome. Mix and match these babies. Don't disappoint me. Pattern on pattern, you know how we do.

And you KNOW I have to practice what I preach. Here is my combo that I am sporting this fine morning. I may not win the title for best "ugly Christmas sweater," but at least I will be dressed the cutest...

Oh so you need some accessories to the soiree as well? I got you on this. You need these capes, because we all need capes. Christmas inspired ones especially.

I just returned from the Chi and am trying to get my life in order as the next holiday is quickly approaching. I mean it is the most wonderful time of the year. Naturally, I am on the hunt for some serious Christmas gear, and that means I need to find the latest and greatest of online boutiques. New to me, and hopefully to you, Thistle & Finn. Feeling fall inspired in a Nate Berkus for Target kind of way

I mean we all are planning for our holiday tablescapes, right? Don't make me feel weird here as a party of one. So I know this isn't going to come as a surprise to any of you, but I am all about an unconventional holiday tablescape. Don't give me any of that cornucopia and rustic color scheme. Give me color, funky pattern mixing and glamorous accents. So thankfully my man Nate Berkus is doing his thing, as always, this holiday season for Target and he is making a major appearance at all of my seasonal soirees.

Nate is bringing his flair and attention to detail to his latest collection. I am talking jewel inspired accouterments. gilded adornment, regal patterns and just plain glamour. I am telling you people, this will be stuff that will carry me into the holidays for many years to come. Just check out how I see my table for Thanksgiving this year. Traditional? Not so much. But with mixing jewel tones, patterns and metals, I have Nate Berkus to give thanks to.

My Must Haves

We all know I have an addiction to shopping, and I may be preaching to the choir here, but I generally have a running list of everything that I "need" in my life. No. Seriously. Each and every one of the items are necessities for life survival. You know that I wouldn't be that frivolous or ostentatious. Some home decor, some body decor...whichever it may adorn, they are my must haves at this very moment and are soon to be yours.  Yours Truly, The Shopaholic

Monday Musings: LC's Apartment in InStyle

My people. What is up? So this is the first week I will not be traveling in like forever. So you will see MUCH, MUCH more of me. Hopefully that is a good thing? My week is off to an amazing start. I slept through the gym this morning and I am dreading being in the office. Someone has a case of the Monday's... Someone pump me up for the Monday morning grind puh-lease. We can do this Monday. Yes we can.

So I was scouring the worldwide interweb this weekend for some serious inspiration and I happened to come across the home of my all time favorite Laguna Beach alum. Can you guess who it is? Team LC. Holler. So LC finally found her prince charming (Spoiler alert: No, it is not Steven Colletti, and no, it is not Jason Wahler) and their sophisticated home was recently featured in InStyle. I mean the place is to die for y'all. LC is clearly dunzo with Laguna and has planted her fancy ass smack dab in Beverly Hills. Would you expect anything less? The girl has amazing style which has translated into her grown up home. White walls, major pops of color, tufted furniture, an elaborate bar situation and a closet that would make Carrie Bradshaw envious. Check it.

Monday Musings: Tassels

Ladies, ladies, ladies. How in the hell are ya? Did you have a fabulous weekend? Candy (ahem and booze) overload? Yametoo. I need some serious weekends that consist of more than two days. Cha feel? Lord. While I am coming at you with an extra hour of sleep today, I have to tell you I am dreading this Monday morning like woah. "Is it Friday yet" is the chant that is on constant repeat in my head. This will make for a long week...

Today I am chatting about something that is oh so near and dear to my heart. Tassels. I know what you are thinking, and get your mind out of the gutter. Not those kind of tassels, ladies. Home decor tassels. I have been slightly on the fence in incorporating tassels into my decor, simply because I am Stella (my dawg) fearing. I cannot imagine the duress I would endure if in one of her fits (where she is trying to teach me a lesson), she decided to go to town on my beloved tassels. But we have struck a deal, and its been decided that we need some tassels up in this abode. I am talking on curtains, couches and pillows. Any and everywhere. Look at all of this lovely inspiration that illustrates what is happening in my brain this very moment.
Foo Dog Ate My Homework

And the ultimate inspiration, that sparks all inspiration. This here camel. Can I just get this guy for my house? I am totally 'bout it 'bout it.

Framebridge

So I had some amazing unframed art just slumming around my house and I felt that it was time to partner with Framebridge to fix that problem. If you haven't been acquainted with Framebridge, shame on you. Framebridge is a custom frame shop where you can send in your own art, or you can even have printed from your very own instagram account. They include typical frame shop quality upsell items—UV-protective glazing, acid-free materials and matting—in the base price. Packaging for your art to be shipped is provided and an easy way to upload digital files. And, wait for it, all shipping is free. Would I lie to you??

So as I said, I had to implement in my own home. I had a custom piece lying around from MFAMB and I decided it would only be properly adorned in the Jambi Frame. Voila. Custom art in the house.

Use code "frame15" to get 15% off of ALL of your orders for a week. Definitely try it out. Cannot believe the ease of use from selection of frame to delivery. I have found my new go to custom framer!
