For the love of Dana Gibson

Please join me in welcoming my newest, latest, most unique, pattern loving, color adoring sponsor, Dana Gibson. Lucky for me, and not so lucky for Dana , she is so Richmond local that I can almost walk to her shop. Let's face it though, I won't. I first happened upon Dana after driving by (stalking) her shop several times and finally went in for a project I was working on. I was overwhelmed to learn that this was the genius behind the leopard lumbar pillow I had seen everywhere. Needless to say, Dana and I clicked immediately. Her shop is full of even more gorgeousness and inspiring projects. Here is what she has got goin' on.

Her fabulous furniture. She has many things in her store that are one of a kind and unique in every way imaginable. Here is one of them.
On to the pillows. My sister and I have decided that she needs this in her new bedroom design. No negotiations.
I decided I need this in our house.
And call me the big repeater, but I really want to see another one of these in our house, only in a subtle hue. I love how I call anything associated with leopard a subtle hue. That is called delusion my friends.

Some of this superb lighting action that Dana is working on. Ummmm this would reside perfectly in a sun room, if I had one.
Okay. Hold the phone. Hold the freakin' rotary dial phone right there. Black shade on a pink crocodile lamp. Holy. Glam.
Another fabulous light fixture that I could weave into our home design. Easily.
Ahhhh Tiffany blue. Dana is a girl after my heart.
Even though you loves are not as lucky as I am to share my backyard with Dana, you need to head over to her immediately and check out all of the wares she has to offer your house. Your house will thank you. Loves!

monday musings: paper covered walls

Hi my loves! My exhaustion knows no bounds this morning. For that reason, I will keep it short, sweet and to the point. You will thank me later. I am totally digging loud, obnoxious, slap you in the face wallpaper lately. Aren't you? I love to make a statement. I know some of you out there, I know you are out there, still cringe at the thought of wallpapering walls due to the complexity (pain in the arse) of its removal. Ladies. I owned a home, where I had to remove 4 layers, 4, of wallpaper to get to the original wall. And I ain't mad at it. We have to get over the "annoyance" and get into the huge impact it as on the design of a space. Lemme show ya.

I am truly digging the chinoiserie walls lately. This little bamboo number is no exception.
I know this room has been seen around the world but I am blown away by its fabulousness. Therefore, I had to share it with you for the 467th time.
Splattered dots. Not once but twice!

Who doesn't adore a peacock bathroom with pattern on pattern window coverings?
Spotted wallpaper. Yes.
I love the watercolor tie dye walls seen in this space. So whimsical.
You know this girl loves her some animal print. Roar.
A little kelly green chinoiserie covered walls. I like.
Don't you totally feel slapped in the face by fabulous? Me too. Enjoy your day. Loves!

Back to the beach and randoms

We are so headed to the beach this weekend to meet up with our family for some much deserved R&R. This is going to be the first time that Stella and Billie have been to the beach, so this is going to be interesting. Stella will regulate, save some lives and maybe have time for an ice cream cone. That I am sure of. Here are some shots from last years vacation. Pretty sure this chair will now be a landmark for must have pictures each year. This year's picture will be shockingly different now that I have dark brown hair. Chameleon. Here is one of me and my sistas.
And all of us minus the boys mom.
I am furiously working to try to finish our guest bedroom. We have a slew of overnight guests trickling in over the next week and I cannot allow them to sleep in anything but a well styled room. More to come on that. I snagged a few items from Craigslist for a steal. Super great bones, just needed a little fun to its life. A little after to a humble before.
And the rough before.
Snagged up two of these awesome Chinese red bamboo tables on Craigslist. Let me tell you something, I spotted these and thought, "I really do not need these and have no where to put them."  I am so glad I told my voice of reason to screw off. Seriously. How could I continue living my life without these in them? Exactly. Sorry for the grainy, hazy picture here.
So on a stuffing my face note. Things I have been loving and wanting to try lately...low calorie liquid meals. I could have this little number for my dinner. Dinner of champions. I am so anti cooking lately, that even I could master this...I think.
And who doesn't adore a low calorie cocktail?? If you don't, I don't want to know you. If loving this is wrong, I don't want to be right.
Desperate for peplum. Still. Will it ever end? I hope not. How fabulous is this dress? Hot pink. Low cut. Peplum. Yes. Yes.  And yes.

Fabulous neon wood grain, marbled rug. Larving this loud statement piece to pizzaz up any room.
That freaking Jamie Meares has done it again. I tell you. Can this girl go one day without flaunting her fabulousness? I think not. Another awesome space compiled by her awesome self and awesome team.

Loving this space by Maria Barros. So bright, cheerful and beachy.

Back to what I will be doing this weekend. Ok so maybe it won't be this clear and blue but fiction can be fun.
Love you all!! Have a fabulous weekend. See you Monday!

Favorite Room Feature: M.A.S.H. by Tiffany Richey

A good morning to you beauties. You know that feeling, when you serendipitously happen upon a new blog that is full of life, and has you scrolling through every post that ever was? That is the exact feeling I had when I found Tiffany Richey from M.A.S.H. I absolutely adore and admire her brave use of bold color and statement pieces. Tiffany is my girl! And who can help but love the clever blog name, M.A.S.H. (Mansion, Apartment, Shack, House)? Don't we all recall that incredibly hopeful game we left up to chance back in the day? And always hoping you end up in that mansion with the bad boy from school? My, how things have changed. I will take the "nerd" any day. Nerds become people's bosses. I digress. Tiffany is sharing her son's room today and you are going to be left "green" with envy just like I am!

Hi, Tiffany Richey here from M.A.S.H.!  I was thrilled when Lindsay asked me to share one of my favorite rooms on Sadie and Stella.  I am a huge fan of her blog and I’m so happy to introduce my son Axel’s room.  I hope you all love it as much as we do!

I love designing children’s rooms because I feel like I can really be creative and have fun with it.  First, let’s talk color, and if your feeling Kelly Green with envy right now, it’s because I used Benjamin Moore’s Kelly Green on the walls.  I used a daybed in his room because it is such a space saver.  This one is from Ballard Design, and the best part is that it has a trundle, so we always have space for friends.

All of the prints on his gallery wall are custom framed and matted.  I found them at The Land of Nod, Etsy, and The Animal Print Shop, oh and the painting-I did myself! Everyone deserves custom art in there space no matter what age.
The monogrammed bolster pillows are from Luxury Monograms and the wingback chair was a craigslist find that I had reupholstered in a faux crocodile leather.

Well I hope you all enjoyed the tour of Axel’s room.  I want to give a big thanks to Lindsay for including me in this series, cheers!

One Room Challenge: Week Five

Laaaaawdddy lawd. Hello my sweetness.  You can guess what kind of update we will be discussing on this fifth week of the One Room Challenge. Hin. It illuminates a space and replaces fake track lighting. You guessed it. New lighting! So I was perusing one of my favorite stores in Richmond, Shades of Light, when I came across this fabulous Bamboo Lantern. My find was originally painted silver and while that is all fine and well, we really just cannot have that in this space. Enter black lacquer spray paint. Taaaa daaaaa.
And in the dark so you can see her true beauty.
She's a real beaut, Clark. I should have taken a picture of the hideous fake track lighting that once resided in this space. I try to forget that horror and hate documenting such appalling events. I mean really. It was offensive!
A peek into what is being tackled on the last and final week of the ORC next week. Season finale, loves. This mess of a mess. I have hated this Ikea cubby shelving unit since the day I bought it. Essentially. I mean the particle board is fabulous and all but I am just so over it. It is in good condition however, and I could use a little more storage. So here she stays.
I will give you a hint as to what is going to jazz this monster up. Some of this action. I am going to totally make my shelving unit Greek too. Greek keys and all.
My girls who are still going strong with me in this challenge. One more week. One more week.

Can I get a witness, I mean winner?

So I know we all could not sleep last night due to the anticipation of the announcement of The Vault giveaway. Well let's get this show on the road so you can sleep. Honestly. The winner is...Bethany! Bethany said...

Facebook! Twitter! I couldn't help myself from social networking this boat all the way up the river. Bethany: bethany@hyde-park.com. Thanks!

Thank you all for entering in this fabulous giveaway hosted by the fab Gab! What a lucky lady Bethany is.

That Jules Reid...she knows best

Forget that Caroline Manzo (RHONJ for those of you who do NOT know) supposedly knows best, because she doesn't. Jules Reid however, does. It is no surprise to most of you that I have been loving Jules Reid for quite some time now. Ever since I saw Jamie Meares sporting a Jules Reid piece in High Gloss Magazine, I was sold. I had to have one of these unique pieces before I experienced a temper tantrum. Her attention to patterns, details and global style absolutely slays me and keeps me coming back for more. Jules pulls inspiration from all over the world for each of her collections, as you can see.
The fabulous, wonderful, beautiful and talented Jules recently sent me a piece, The Peony, in my favorite Jules Reid print, Tiger Circus. Obsession, much? I wore it to my most recent ladies night out with Richmond's best. This was after we were neglected by our waiter and then was rudely attended to by Theo Huxtable from the Cosby Show. I am totally digging the Cosby's lately. Disclaimer: Please excuse our demonic eyes.
{Me, ErinJulia}
Don't we love?!? Get you The Peony.
If you will recall, I also have this little number from Jules Reid that I still wear on the reg. So appropriately it is named "The Virginia" as I am now a Virginian. I feel this, and Jules Reid, should be the state uniform.
Sporting The Virginia
Ok. So some other items of Jules that I am more than needing in my closet. I mean honestly. Life or death here, peeps.
1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8.
So what do you think?! Are you guys as smitten as I am? You know I love me a unique piece. Hop on over and see Jules. Loves!
