Favorite Room Feature: My Interior Life

Friday eve is here and we have a super fun visitor this morning! Are you all familiar with Kathy from My Interior Life? She is hysterical, has a fresh style and is a daily read for me. Today is she is sharing her chinoiseriesque dining room with us and I am beyond obsessed. Beyond. There are gingers, mercury glass and bamboo all present. Oh my. What more could I want in a space. Without further adieu...

Hello, Sadie + Stella readers, I'm Kathy from My Interior Life. I was beyond honored when Lindsay asked me to participate in her fun "Favorite Room" feature! As some of you can possibly relate to, I'm not 100% content with any of the rooms in my home - they're all a work in progress in my book (a side effect of my design ADD). But one of the rooms that I feel is the most "finished," and that I love is my dining room. I've noticed a trend in Lindsay's features, and I think I'm the fourth dining room feature in a row . . . hmm, interesting. Without further ado, here's my dining room:
As you can probably tell, I like a mix of styles. A little Chinoiserie, a little modern and some traditional elements make this room the perfect representation of my style. One of the things I adore most about my dining room is the color - Champion Cobalt by Benjamin Moore. Previously, I had painted it a subtle bluish-gray by Sherwin Williams called Silvermist, but I thought it didn't contrast enough with the rest of my open concept living area.
While there was nothing wrong with the previous color per se, I thought my room needed a little kick. The cobalt blue really makes the pagoda mirror and abstract art by Anton Weiss pop.

I also love my Worlds Away mirrored drum chandelier that I snagged at their warehouse in Memphis years ago for a steal. While it technically is a little small for the table/room, I think it has enough presence to hold its own.
Another favorite in the room has also been the gilt faux bamboo console I grabbed at an estate sale years ago. I love its slim profile and elegant lines.
As you can tell, I've changed some items like mirrors and accessories (thus the work in progress), but overall I'm very happy with my dining room in its current state:
In the interest of full disclosure, I must confess that these photos are a little dated as the rug has since been destroyed by my dogs and thus tossed, and my floors have recently been refinished to a darker brown. Oh, and I was waiting to hang my cream colored drapes until I can get the blue Greek Key affixed. See, I'm never really done. Stay tuned for updates.

Thanks so much, Lindsay, for having me! I really enjoyed sharing my favorite room!

The ability to tailor furniture to my specific taste and needs is something I find incredibly appealing. 20. I recently got some blinds and curtains for my home in Dubai, and it has made a world of difference! Living in this beautiful city, we get so much sunlight, and finding the perfect window treatments was crucial. I went with a light and airy fabric for the curtains, allowing the sunlight to filter through while still maintaining privacy. The blinds, on the other hand, give me the option to control the amount of light coming in. It's amazing how a simple change in window treatments can transform the entire ambiance of a room. If you're in Dubai and looking to enhance your home decor, investing in quality blinds and curtains is definitely worth it! Blinds and Curtains

  21. I particularly liked the emphasis on choosing the right fabric. Qatar's climate can be quite demanding, and selecting materials that are not only stylish but also durable is crucial. It's impressive how designers are incorporating traditional Qatari elements into modern designs, creating a seamless blend of culture and contemporary style. Blinds and Curtains
