As promised, this post is coming to you LIVE from the 804. VA, we have arrived. Loving it so far, but what is not to love? The hell (unpacking) ensues today. Lawwwwddd. Let's focus on the pretty. So my latest e-design client lives in Dubai. No kidding. I am dying to go to Dubai. Is anyone else? I have this vision in my head that it is a magical place full of gold, fashion and over the top adornment. A Vegas of the Middle East. Any way, she is absolutely fabulous. My first concern was how we would be able to incorporate design elements that we have here in the States, into her design? She had me covered. Let's put it this way, this was not her first rodeo. She already had a forwarding 3rd party address here where things can be shipped to, and then shipped to Dubai from there. Girl pulled out all of the stops.
She and her husband are expecting a little one, and wanted to get a sanctuary designed and implemented for themselves before their new addition makes its way into the world. They love pops of color but also love classic pieces. I wanted to give them a good mixture of the two in a design that will carry them through the years. Here she be.Just to give you an idea of the space that we are working with, here are some before pictures:
Have any of you ever seen the HGTV show House Hunters? If you have, have you ever seen an episode where they are looking for housing in Dubai? Does this not look exactly like all of the spaces they show? I was trying to explain this to my client but she had no idea what I was talking about. Probably was thinking "Crazy American."
Luckily for me, we have good bones. I cannot wait to see the finished product. It is going to be amazeballs, just like her! Loves!
