S+S design: a monochromatic classic living space

TGIMF (Thank God Its My Friday) and I hope its yours too. We haven't shared a design project with you in a hot minute, so how about it? Remember the fabulous client that we were designing not 1 but 4 spaces? Here she is. In all of her glory. Design 3. I hope after design 4 is complete, we can get started on the second floor of her house. She is a dream. After everything is said and done, wondering if she well let me move in with her? Not weird right? Totally normal. Her house is fabulous and so is she.

We envisioned the space incorporating a large seating/gathering area located centrally. The large tufted couch will reside with the back facing the front door and the front facing the windows. The couch will face directly to two large chairs in the space. One, will be the striped chair and ottoman shown on this board, and the other, will be the chaise lounge shown in the second design board. To add a touch of glam to the space up, we have included a gold and antique mirrored coffee table. A driftwood side table was added to the room to give a rustic feel to the gathering room. Last but not least, this mammoth of an armoire. Glammy.

The chaise lounge is included in this board, but we already spoke of that. Sillies. That will accompany the striped number in the board above. Ok. So the client has an amazing space that needs a refurb of the current mantel. Our thought was definitely a mantel that included some reclaimed wood and possibly some marble. A wow factor piece. Currently the fireplace is covered with a cabinet (you will see before and after pictures) and we wanted to show that fireplace off and make it the focal point of the room. The space has a wall of cabinetry. This will be painted one hue darker than the walls to make them pop and add some depth and dimension to the space. Yeah.

This space is so calming and serene and I personally, would love to just kick it here. For sure. Cannot wait to see the aftermath! Happy TGIMF!

  1. Hiya! Happy Friday - lol! I just did a monochromatic, tone on tone, board for our most recent client and I tell you what, after doing that, I felt totally soothed. I try to keep my palette in my house kind of soothing so I'm ready to tackle my own master bedroom in all tone-on-tone neutrals after that. It just works. Your ideas are great. I'm geeking over that mirrored umbrella stand - oh ma gah.
