monday musings: beachy keen

Happy post Easter day! New holiday. Good morning, lovers. How are you? I have an egg, sun and allergy hangover. It is very attractive. For reals. Today we are talking about tropical and beachy spaces. Some call it premature, some jumping the gun, but I am absolutely smitten with tropical spaces and places in the now. Maybe it is the taste of the summer heat and sun we are currently experiencing, but it has me daydreaming about a tropical vacation? Maybe it is the 3rd degree sunburn that I acquired while laying outside yesterday? No one can say for sure. All I know is that we just got done planning a cruise to the Western Caribbean after the boy takes the Bar. Piña coladas and full days of lazing out in the sun are in my future. Post 3rd degree burns here I come!

Why not add a touch of the tropics into your everyday living to keep you daydreaming of that memorable vacation. Let's call it a staycation. Everyone can handle either a seafan, a piece of coral or some beach inspired colors in any space. It is calling for it. Trust me. It will be that perfect piece that will keep you wanting for more. Let's get on to the beach inspired spaces. Duh.

Holy sea creatures. How amazingly unique is this space? In all honesty. Loving the display wall and how each arch is uniformly cut into the wall with its own feature sea creature. Rhyming. Such a different spin on art. What a fabulous sitting area.

Definition of beach or tropical inspired bedroom. You know I love me some coral! The coral headboard and floral patterned settee are to die for. To die. Can you imagine waking up to this every morning? Paradise.

Ummmm this hallway is amazeballs times one million. Where to start? How about that oversized, overdyed kilim rug? Needing it. The stone walls and floor add so much impact and drama to the space. Totally a beachy vibe. Not to mention the looming palm trees outside of the space. They are talking to us. Pretty sure.

Ok so not straight beachy but it does remind me of the tropics in a serious way. Bright colors with a rustic vibe? Totally. That solid hot pink door would bring me overwhelming joy every time I arrived home. Not to mention that cactus that is so rudely trying to steal the hot pink door's show. Sorry cacti, cannot be done.
Does this row of brightly colored beach houses, and white parked Expedition, leave you wanting to jump in the car and head for the coast immediately? I mean seriously. I am already in the car. This image is the quintessential beach house row that I dream of. This is a framer.
Another beachy door up in here. While not including the shocking neon colors, this subdued pink is still in favor of a tropical vibe. Let's not forget, any shade of pink on a door is a bold move. And the tropics and the beach are all about bold moves in decor. Bam.
Adore this tropical inspired dining room. Don't you? The layered shades of turquoise and blues are totally doing it for me. Not to mention the amazing beamed ceiling. Hello. From the fabulous coral chandy (yes coral chandy), to the turquoise bamboo seating, to the sea life table settings, I am absolutely in love. I wonder what they are serving? Jerk chicken?
{the foo dog ate my homework}
A monochromatic tropical beachy bathroom. This room is nothing short of glam, glam, glam. It is what Fergie would call "Flossy." The shell sink?! Get out of here. I cannot even stand how luxe this little powder room is. Lawwwwd.

Big reveal in store for you beauties tomorrow. Let's just say, I found a solution to my brass dome lighting problem. Cannot wait to show you. Thanks for the encouragement from the Twitter followers. I followed your lead! Have a fabulous day, my loves!

  1. The tropical houses on the beach row are located in Atlantic Beach, NC! Shout out to North Carolina and my hometown -- love that development -- so cheery and summery.
