Monday Musings: Workin' it in the bedroom

Hey ladies? Are you all with me this morning? Shall I take attendance? I am so exhausted and cannot believe another Monday is upon us. Why is that the weekends fly like the wind? It is cruel, I tell you. For those of you fellow Mad Men fans, let's take a moment to discuss last night's episode. What in the hell? What was that? I am so confused. Everything. And does Megan severely annoy everyone or is that just me? Dear Mad Men writers and cast, Get it together. Sincerely, Lindsay.

So today I am talking about workin' it in the bedroom. Get your minds out of the gutter, people. Not like that. I am talking about desks in the boudoir to get your work done. I know that bedrooms are intended to be a sanctuary to wind down and do nothing but relax, but I cannot help but love the look of a desk in the space. Especially as a nightstand. Utilizing a desk as a nightstand gives such an interesting look as it looks more like a console and can be so multipurpose. So chic, my friends. So chic.  Makes me think of a more simple time where people sent handwritten letters and wrote in journals. It is just so classic.

What say you? This has been implemented in my master bedroom which you all will be seeing VERY soon. Try to keep it together this Monday, will ya? A chore it will be. XOXO

  1. I love a desk in the bedroom. I just finished my desk makeover and have it in my living room now. I thought if I ever wanted a change of scenery I could just move it to the bedroom. Great images :)xo Kristin

  3. I love a desk as a bedside table. But its for looks....I don't work on it. Although every once in a while I will write a letter or two there....and feel so sophisticated! ha!

  4. I've wanted to put a desk in the br but working conflicts with my husband's sleep schedule...If I could do everything from the bedroom I'd be one happy girl!

  5. I love the look of a desk in the bedroom, but couldn't see myself actually working in there. If I don't have another room to work in, I'd probably go stir crazy. I wouldn't mind having a different desk on display in the bedroom though!

  7. What a gorgeous look! It would be more fashion than function for me! Also a great idea for a kid's room! Baby Girl's big girl room may be getting something like picture #1!

  8. I agree, it reminds me of hand written notes. I love it as a side table as well. A great solution, especially when space is tight and you need to multi-purpose it up!

  9. I must agree with you. A desk in a master is typically a no no for me, but I just love the look of it. I love it doubling as a bedside table, and I'm especially loving the little writer's desk in the second photo. Can't wait to see your bedroom!!

  11. I have a desk as my nightstand. Honestly, I do not know how I lived with a small table before that.

  12. I am in the midst of helping my friend decorate her bedroom in which they have a desk! We are going to look for a really pretty one on craigslist. I think it's such a great way to make use of small spaces!

  15. I LOVE the idea of having an office in the bedroom. As a blogger, my mind is always racing with new ideas... especially while I'm in bed so having easy access to a work station is awesome!

  16. I love the aesthetic but am on the fence. My desk is a disaster and I wouldn't want all that drama in my sleep/sex sanctuary. It would had to be for looks only.

  17. I absolutely LOVE this idea...and I think it's here to stay! I do wonder how many people actually "work" at these desks or if it's just more for looks! I feel like side tables are so hard to find too so this is another option!
