Monday Musings: Art on shelves

Darlings! What is up? Did you all have a wonderful and merry weekend? Are we all wishing for an additional day? Don't look at me. I am apolitical, but if someone decided to run that believed in implementing the reoccurring three day weekend, I would probably vote for them. And despite what all of their other policies may be. Honest. So if you are interested in running for this cause, call me up. I will be your campaign manager. After all, I have a great track record. Just ask the President of my former elementary school. I got her elected in the 5th grade, all the while having strep throat. I am a shark.

I have always been quite fond of copious amounts of books lining shelves in every way imaginable. Vertical, horizontal, stacked, not stacked, color coded, not color coded, adorned with accessories...You get my drift. There is nothing more stately and stylish than an extensive book collection. Better yet, a well styled book collection. That is, until now. Sometimes bookshelves can be slightly boring as they are just wood shelving. Right? Wrong. Absolutely wrong. Enter frames on shelves. What, you say? Hanging artwork on the front of the bookshelf will change our lives forever. Just you wait and see.

Bam. Can you disagree? I love the collected feel it brings to an already charming space. Not only will you appear to be brilliant from your large reading collection, but you will also be regarded as an art connoisseur. Change your ways now and thank me later. XOXO

  3. This post makes me sad because I have no bookshelves. Really it is a tragedy there are no built ins in our house and I want some so bad! I did just find a sick bookcase for kitchen so I can style that when the rents bring it down next week. Love all the images, books make me happy- I am a nerd at heart!

  5. I am totally doing this when our library is finished. My husband will hate it and be all, "How am I supposed to get the books behind the picture!?" I'm sure it will just take the right stink eye from me for him to see the light.

  7. The first paragraph alone has made this rainy Monday morning even better. I'd also get behind that candidate. Whoever decided on a 2 day weekend was out of their minds. Since I'm a huge book nerd I'm obsessed with having tons of books around.

  21. Art on shelves is so much cooler than elf on a shelf, foooshoo.

Speaking of, I wish they would come up with a version of elf on a shelf for husbands. Now THAT would make millions. Hmmm, if only we could get them to believe in elves.
