Monday Musings: Painting on the Interior

Doesn't it sound so official? Almost like a government agency, "painting on the interior." Maybe it is just the word "interior"? How is a girl to know. Did you all have a larvely weekend? I certainly hope so. Did you all watch the Globes last night? Am I the only person in America that fails to give a crap about award shows? I feel alone in this. My weekend was spent pining away for you all and for new furniture. I am doing a "sell, sell, sell" situation with a lot of my furniture and I have my eye on some seriously bold pieces. I am certain you can guess what one piece will be. Clueless? How about one with painting on the interior? Oooohhh and ahhhhh.

I have to say, two toned cabinets with a darker exterior finish and a bold hue on the interior has to be my number one favorite decor trend right this minute. That says a lot. Take a once boring pine, yes I said it, cabinet and give it new life with a contrasting exterior and interior paint job. Make it custom. Pretend Xhibit from the old show "Pimp My Ride" is at your house and it now applies to your furniture. Seriously. You will thank me and him.

Ok. So tell me you are not smitten. Just try. I thought this would be a great time to practice what I preach and show you some examples in the flesh. I have found pieces from Craigslist all over the country (Richmond, Dallas, Chicago, Raleigh) that are available for one of you glamazons to snatch up and refinish. Hell, I even gave you the most suitable color combinations for the piece. Someone buy these pieces! Someone. Anyone.

  8. Girl, I was just planning a combo myself. I want to do a dark charcoal on the outside, and use the coral that I have for the inside. Can you look on CL in New Jersey? I know, why would anyone want to hunt in NJ?
