Favorite Room Feature: A Creative Day

Lovers. As luck would have it, I am down and out again! How is it possible for someone to be sick for the second time in 3 weeks? Lawd. I will blame it on the weather, like we do everything else. I just want to cuddle up in a cozy and serene space. Enter Eileen from A Creative Day. Eileen is sharing her fashion packed master suite with us today and I must say, I am blown away. She doesn't call her blog A Creative Day for nothin'. Just you wait...
Hi all, I'm Eileen from a creative day and I'm excited to be here today sharing my favorite room in my house. Its hard for me to pick a favorite room because each one is a work in progress and even though the hubs would love for me to 'finish' a room,  its probably never going to happen. But I had to pick my bedroom to share today because its the latest one I've worked on.Its a major labor of love, considering we hammered in each nailhead by hand on that headboard.
I found this bedroom by Amanda Nisbet in house beautiful and loved everything about it, especially the headboard. We (and by we I mean me ) decided to go for it. My father in law is a furniture builder... I know, awesome. So he cut out the shape I drew out for the headboard. The foam and batting was the easy part and I prematurely said, "this is going to be fine." Enter trying to curve fabric without bunching around the curves and nailing in each individual nailhead. 8 hours later and a few bottles of wine, we were done.
Totally worth it. The panels are Ikea with some $4 a yard orange pom pom trim added (I totally used hot glue for that) .The gold leaf panels on the wall are julian chichester that I picked up at market for a steal and I love them! The bedding is Ikea and the circle shams are from the target dorm section. Side tables are World's Away, gifted and the fabric was found at a local fabric store. I had the bolster made b/c I can't sew at all. Unless you call heat bond iron hemming sewing.

I've loved breaking down my favorite room for ya'll, and make sure you stop by a creative day . Thanks to my girl Lindsay for asking me to share in her favorite room features... one of my favorite series around the blogsphere and did I mention, major girl crush!
xoxo

  10. That headboard is heavenly. I'm in the middle of doing my own headboard, and keep thinking about this one and what a b*tch it must have been to nail in all those nail heads. It's gorgeous!
