Monday Musings: Trimming it

Love muffins! How are you? My apologies for an impromptu 3 day break from y'all. Sometimes a girl just needs rest. Chay'all feel? Did we all have marvelous weekends? Before we get down to business this morning, can we please have a round table discussion about the RHONJ? Did anyone else watch the premier last night and feel like it was super scripted? While last night was a snooze fest, the previews for this season look to be lacking absolutely no drama. I am talking back to the Danielle Staub days. Bravo, you nailed it.

So getting down to business here. I know a few months back I mentioned that adding millwork to my home was a top priority. And since I do not want to make a liar out of myself, I am in the process of that implementation. When I first moved in, I had thoughts of reconfiguring the kitchen to create more delineated kitchen and dining room spaces. Well folks, I got off the crack pipe and decided that might be a waste of money and the perfect way to "specify" these spaces, would be to add fancy dancy trim to my dining room. It's about to go down and don't you worry, you will be privy to all of the deets.

Ok. So show of hands. Who is with me on this? I cannot even stand how lovely it is going to be paired with a neutral grasscloth. It is bound to blow your socks off. XOXO

  15. I did the same thing for a client. They had purchased a new home and we wanted to give it some character. We added board and batten paneling in the living room 3/4 high on the wall and recessed panels below a chair rail in the dining room. We combined it with an earthy color palette and contemporary art to create two rooms that are grounded in tradition but with a youthful feeling. It was published in February. You can see it here http://www.marylandlife.com/living/home-and-garden/the-transformation/

Good luck with your project. I can't wait to see it when it's done.
