Hello dahlings. Are we in the learning type mood today? Because I am in the teaching frame of mind. So, I am not sure if you are aware but art stacking is in. Very in. I love the interest and maturity it brings to any space. It can instantly catapult your status to art collector. So, so chic. I know this can intimidate some, but really it is easier than it looks. I have a certain formula that I typically try to abide by here, which we will revisit in a moment. Let's first explore some examples. Shall we?

So. That formula I spoke of? In each grouping, I typically aim for at least one abstract, one black and white sketch/photo and something that includes a pop of color (whether it be the frame or the art). Don't be afraid to mix and match the frames and art styles. The mixture of modern and traditional elements make you an official art connoisseur. Let's get our stack on.
First Group: Landscape Abstract/Black Sketch/Ink blot Second Group: Splatter/Farm Photography/The Dog Third Group: JFK/Blue and black /Nude sketch on blue
i am a vehement stacker. both mantels in my house are stacked out.
ReplyDeleteNice! I need to go get some frames so I can do this in just the spot I was having trouble with.
ReplyDeleteOh yes!! My office is full of stacked pieces at first waiting for them to be hung and then I realized I loved having my lower walls decorated!!

I have always loved the look of stacked frames so I am glad to here it's "in". So chic, and great for renters who don't want to damage walls!
ReplyDeleteI may be the biggest dork but I liked the unintentional (?) pun at the beginning "teaching fram of mind". :) Also the art collections you came up with are pretty dope.
ReplyDeleteI've started to stack some art on the side table in my family room only because I have no more wall space for things and I am really loving the look. Its been that way for 5 months or so and I can get why I see it in magazines and photoshoots now- its so cool, casual and layered.
ReplyDeleteGreat roundup here!
I love stacking art. But I think it's partly because I'm too ambivalent to hang.
ReplyDeleteYup...I'm VERY into the stack...and the floor lean for that matter.
ReplyDeleteim obsessed with the stacked art look! x
