Monday Musings: If it ain't Dutch, it ain't much

Lovelies! Are we rested and ready for the week? Negative over here. Today I am talking about one of my absolute favorite features on a home. A dutch door. I love the traditional charm that it brings to any room. It is kind of a classy form of the mullet. Business on the top, party on the bottom. The classy one though. It immediately transports me back to the olden days in a colonial home with horses and cows grazing in the fields. I am not even lying. I can't even imagine growing up in a home that had a dutch door. I am quite certain that I would have thought it was the coolest thing I had ever laid eyes on. Well besides those captain seats in old minivans that would rotate backwards. #hello80sflashback. Let's double dutch.

Are you feeling as Dutch colonial as I am? What an inviting and quaint detail. Also, do not forget my loves, today is the VERY last day to enter the Laurel Dawn Giveaway. If you need art, I suggest you head on over and enter. Loves! XOXO

  9. Gorgeous! I'd like to say I'm rested but hello... when I woke up to a freezing cold 43 degrees my bed asked me to never leave. Unfortunately I could not oblige. So sad.

  16. We lived in a little beach back house for eight years and for eight years, I thought of nothing but installing one of these friendly little beauties. It's so much more than just a door. I think it would encourage a whole other way of living, sort of extending the outside in, especially when used at the front of a smaller house or cottage.

  17. We have double dutch doors leading to our porch off the den. It may be the reason I don't want to move... Or, perhaps when we sell the house, I will enter a clause Dutch Doors Go With Seller! Awesome post.
