Favorite Room Feature: Only Things I Love

Today we are sharing the favorite room of Karen at Only Things I Love. Karen has a great eye for style. We love the use of neutrals and then major pops of color in her space. Her room is so cozy and we definitely want to curl up in it and get our read on.

Hi Sadie + Stella readers! It's Karen from over at Only Things I Love. I'm very excited (and maybe a little bit nervous) to share my favorite room. My Den is pint sized and open to the kitchen and entry way - so I guess it's more of a favorite area of my house. I really tried to tie them all together.
As you can see, the decor is not for everyone (my Mom is not a fan). It's filled with crazy patterns, shocking pink and an animal print rug. We closed on our new but old house (circa 1870) back in March and the den was the first order of business.  It started out very, well, green.  The sea foam green rug was the first thing to go. I really thought the green walls would follow - but (like a moss) the color grew on me.  The room gets great light, which my attempts to photograph don't always show:
A lot of what's in this room is stuff I already had.  I did a "look for somewhat less" by getting the Hermes baby blanket rather than the small used car priced regular blanket. The oversized lamps are from Robert Abbey, the basket from the Pottery Barn Outlet, the side tables from CB2 and the tray is from Jonathan Adler. Maybe my favorite item, the pillows, are David Hicks La Fiorentina from Furbish. I love them to death. The den is open to the kitchen so I had another couple of pillows made for the banquette.

The first floor is so small and disjointed that I decided to carry the Antelope into the entryway by using it on the stairs. Here is how the room is viewed from the entry:

It's definitely a work in progress. I wish I could find a window treatment I loved. And not pictured is about 10,000 loose DVDs. But in the interim it is definitely pug approved. A big thank you to Lindsay and Lindsay for letting me share my favorite space!
