Devon Dyer

Did y'all see the feature on Devon Dyer on The Glitter Guide? If not, get your head out of the sand. If so, get ready for deja vu. Devon has been one of my favorite fashion blogs for some time now, so the fact that she has branched her branding into lifestyle and interiors as well, excites me to no end. It is of no surprise that her home is as colorful and unique as she is. Place screams glamma girl, and we all know how I feel about that. Girl is brill.

Monday Musings: Black and White

Good morning miladies. So,I apologize for the radio silence last week but I promise you I had a legit excuse. I do not generally like to get incredibly personal on this blog but I lost my grandfather last week. When people reflect on ways that others touch and enrich their lives in a special way, this would have been this guy for me. My grandpa was the "ish". Men like him do not exist anymore. He was honest, loyal, courageous, positive, solid, consistent, moral and above all else, hilarious. He always did the right thing even in the face of adversity. I will miss him wholeheartedly each and every day. He was a good one. I love you always and forever Grandpa. Just to give you an idea of where I get my fashion forward looks from, look at how stylish he was even back in the day. Can we say Mad Men?

And in the spirit of my grandfather, he would want me to get back to work and that is exactly what we will do.
I can tell you something I am totally digging right now and I can also predict this is going to be THE new big trend in home decor. Black and white. Y'all, I am feeling it. I think it faded for awhile but I this monochromatic color scheme is going to come back in a big big way. Mark my words. It is just the right amount of classic and simplicity juxtaposed with an edge. Yin meets yang. Just look at these spaces and try and tell me differently. I dare you.

Artist Spotlight Teil Duncan

Can we please discuss how kick ass Teil Duncan is? I discovered her work some time ago, and I yet to be able to kick the obsession. What can I say? The heart wants, what the heart wants. Each piece in Teil's collection is colorful, whimsical and mentally transports you to a happier place. I am talking the beach, people. Hustle and bustle of some major happenings seaside. Instant vacation, much? I am dying to incorporate one of these pieces into my new house. What do you think?

Something you should know about

My peoples. Do any of you suffer from lame heaboarditis? I totally know the feeling, I have been there and done that. Apparently some companies have gotten their you know what together, and started making slipcovers for headboards. Ummm, genius. While you do have to have their specific headboard to fit the slipcover, it is a quick, cheap and easy way to change your look. Can we say instant update? Just look at my faves from the one and only Ballard Designs. Eat your heart out.

Monday Musings: Fringe Benefits

What up girls? Did you all have a wondrous weekend? I know. We were all chomping at the bit for Monday to arrive so we could be reunited. Feeling is more than mutual. Today I am getting down with something very near and dear to my heart. That's right. You guessed it. Fringe. This girl has been digging it on clothes for sometime now but now it is time to take it to decor. There is something so classic and traditional.  about the adornment yet it brings a certain level of funk to a space. I couldn't describe it if I tried. Maybe Granny Chic? Just you wait and see. You know I love an example. So listen up class.

Are you all as smitten as I am? I mean who can resist this flair? I can tell you one thing, Stella can get down with some fringe. In her older age she has learned to coexist with the fringe and not kill its vibe. That Stella. Love you. Mean it. XOXO

Summer Fashion on the Cheap

You know I like a deal, and I know y'all do too. Not to mention it is hotter than hell out there and we all need some fashion staples to beat the heat. I for one have been digging dresses and rompers for this Summer season and if it were socially acceptable, I would be rocking the romper at work. True story. For those of you who are acquainted with me, know that my last name is Dress. It would only be so appropriate for me to be donning one. Amirite? Here are some dresses that I have added to my repertoire recently and you should too. On the cheap.

Who can resist a romper? Seriously. Pair it with some wedges or platform heels, and you have an outfit for a night out. I am totally digging it.

My newest obsession has been shades. I am constantly on the lookout for new pairs. I am also considering rocking these at work. Disguise? Maybe.

And last but certainly not least, the wedge. I am all about the heels people. I am that girl that you see on the weekends running errands in wedges. Not because I am short (I am 5'7) but because I adore a heel. And also, I have worn heels so consistently now that I have messed my feet up. That is right, hurts to wear flats. Sigh. A wedge is a good compromise between the flat and the heel. Rock it.

Outdoor Space Heaven

I know those of you who know me are thinking, "What in the hell? Lindsay in an outdoor space?" You would be semi correct. I would say I am not the most outdoorsy person you would encounter. In fact, I am probably the least outdoorsy person you could ever encounter. However, I can rock a patio like no ones business. Give me scenery, give me major decor, good music and give me a drink; then you have an outdoorsy Lindsay. It's as simple as that. So look at all of these major outdoor spaces.

And for the record, my thoughts exactly. Don't hate the player...hate the game.

A collected client design

Holy exhaustion. How is it Tuesday and I am already dragging? Not a good sign for anyone. So little ladies...today I am sharing the design for one of my lovely clients. Just to give you a little background, this room is directly connected to this room that I also designed for her. That being said, I wanted things to coordinate as much as possible, yet give the room its own flair. What do we think? Jazzy?
If you are feeling a transformation for your space, do not hesitate to email me at sadieandstella@gmail.com.

Monday Musings: Pops of Pink

What. Up? How are y'all? Did you have have a fabulous weekend? I certainly hope so. Today I am needing to discuss a topic very near and dear to my heart. That's right. Pops of pink. This is one of my favorite subjects to address with clients because the immediate response from the male side of the couple clientele is "absolutely not." (Generally with an expletive thrown in.) Listen up guys and gals, there is nothing more chic than a pop of pink in any space. And let me tell you, it does not put your masculinity into question to like the way that it looks. Real men wear pink. Just sayin'.
