What's been going on

Hello my love muffins! How art thou? As you know, I purchased a house and it has been non-stop ever since. The to-do list is painfully extensive and my patience is quickly being worn down. You all know me. I want it done and I want it done now. Call me Veruca Salt. Let me show you some of the progress that has happened thus far.

Remember how I told you I was certifiably nuts and decided to refinish the floors on my own? Biggest bitch of a DIY but it was so worth it. Look at them now. Clark, she's a beaut.
I know you all were wildly concerned about the baby poop brown walls that were originally in the master bedroom. Have no fear, Palladian Blue saved the day. Don't worry, light fixtures/ceiling fans are coming down as we speak. Thank the lord for handymen.
Guest bedroom in Solitude.
The office in BM's Spring Mint. Remember my plan for a mint and yellow office? Well, it is happening.
So enough with the floor and wall shots. Amirite? My new couch made it and I am quite obsessed, I must say. I was originally worried about the color of the piping and now I cannot imagine it any other way. It is perfect. Just a little styling update of the living room. Much more to come.

One of the most important ladies of the house, Billie, trying out her new couch. She gives it two paws up.

Another living room update. Credenza is here and styled. Would I have it any other way?

You know how it goes. A move means many trips to Homegoods. Many, many, many. So while I cannot find a space for these pieces, I hope you go to your own Homegoods have such good fortune as I. Just look at this chartreuse console table! Is it not the most? Tell me it isn't. Just try.
Another lovely console. The picture is not doing it justice, just like it adds 10 lbs to the normal adult, it is stealing the pizzazz and color that this console actually has. It is a mustardy yellow with a high lacquer sheen. Done and done. Why do I not have a place for this?!?!
Ok. The find of the century. Yes, I swear this is from Homegoods. I did a double take and then was in a dead sprint to touch this baby. I am going to take a day to cool off on it, as I really do not have a place for it, but I am willing to throw everything away and possibly fashion a wall to give this lovely a home. Can you believe it?
So that is what is up lately. Totally mental and physical exhaustion. Have you all done any fun DIY project or found any goods at the HG lately? Share it all. Loves! xoxo

Favorite Room Feature: Michaela Noelle Designs

Do you all know Michaela with Michaela Noelle Design? If you do, you know why she is about to be featured. If you do not, shame on you. You know the girls in high school that are all state track, class president and definitely won Miss Congeniality? That is what I picture Michaela being like. Only now in the adult years, she has a serious design aesthetic. Her designs are crisp, airy, clean and feminine and frankly, there is nothing I would rather look at on a Snowmageddon day like today!

Hi hi hi to all you Sadie + Stella lovers! I'm thrilled to be here sharing my newly redesigned bedroom. Last summer I decided it was time for a revamp {and I can never just sit still!}, so I set out to create a stylish, sophisticated and girly bedroom.  The trick? Keeping the cost down so this college girl's wallet didn't get real mad. Here's a bit about what I did...

I refinished the white dresser {a Goodwill find for only $70}, gave the HomeGoods nightstand a fresh coat of dove gray paint, sewed the curtains with my sweet grandma's help using this fabric, and put together a collection of architectural paintings and prints by talented artists for the gallery wall above my desk.  Now when I'm blogging and working on client projects, I have something extra pretty and inspiring to glance up at every once and a while.   As a lover of all things handmade, I made sure to hunt down my favorite etsy shops in order to add some unique pieces to my room.

I'm a firm believer in absolutely adoring the place you call home by filling it with treasures you love and have collected.  I'm also a believer that puppies {namely, my english cream golden retriever} will make you smile almost every time you see them.  Miss Hope is my personal assistant and sometimes we take breaks to read the latest House Beautiful together :) I hope you love my favorite room as much as I do!

Have you heard of Clothier Jones?

While I am completely buried in snow today with no sign of ever digging out, I might as well share a new furniture find with you all, Clothier Jones. Don't you get inspired when an avalanche is brewing outside of your house? We all know that I love a custom piece of furniture and that is just what Clothier Jones delivers. You ask and you shall receive. That is the kind of motto I like. Handcrafted pieces with your choice of their amazing fabrics. I know that everyone has their preference, anywhere from serene to loud, they got you covered. Literally. Check out everything that I am dying over.

This footstool needs to be mine in a very serious way. I can just imagine this adorning my living room and where I go to rest my feet at night. Let's face it, Stella would purpose this as her bed.
On to my favorite, the chaise lounge. I have always wanted a fainting couch and a fainting couch I shall have. I picture myself in the most dramatic of days, falling back into this chair with one hand inserted over the face. Does it not just call for that?
Ooooohhhh and ahhhh the tufted chair. What is not to love? I am so on board with this chartreuse hue right now it is not even funny. I can totally picture this in my master suite in my little reading nook. I just talked myself into it. This needs to happen.

A lovely nailhead adorned settee. And those legs?!?!!? This baby has got some legs on her. Do we love the lines?

And let's discuss fabric, shall we? These are my personal favorites from their fabric library.
They do not just do upholstered furniture. No, no, no. They also handcraft desks and benches. Stuff just got real. Amirite??

Monday Musings: Burly Burly Wood

I like my wood like I like my men, big and burly. OK, not actually. I prefer my men that way but not my wood. After scouring the internet high and low this weekend for the perfect dresser in my new house, I came across a large burled wood buffet from Drexel. It honestly set my world on fire. After stalker like tendencies and about 4 consecutive and unanswered desperado emails I fired off to the Craigslist listing, I finally got a reply from the owner. I swear, when it comes to my furniture, I get clingy. I know you all are dying to know what happened...I am picking the piece up this morning. Thank you burly burly wood. Until I can put this baby on display for you all, here are some other burled wood pieces that are doing it for me.

So I lied. Here is a sneak peek of the soon to be mine piece. Isn't he so burly and lovely? If all goes well, maybe I can style mine with a Santa Clause as well.
Check me out on Twitter today for random updates in project full house reno. It gets real crazy up in there. Promise. XOXO

Scarves? frame 'em

Don't we all have some scarves that have been handed down through the family? You know, a silk square scarf that maybe your grandmama wore to adorn her neck but you hesitate to wear it in the same manner in fear of looking like a flight attendant. Surely you all know what I am talking about. Honestly, I adore silk scarves. I think the texture, colors and pattern are absolutely beautiful. While I do not wish to wear them around my neck and have people mistake me for being French, I do wish to frame them and hang them as art. Seriously. Do it and you will never turn back. I guarantee your visitors of your house will be absolutely envious of your unique piece of artwork. Little do they know your grandmama used to wear it around her neck to hide skin imperfections.

Like, how much do we love? I think we all need some scarves of our own to adorn our walls.

A bright, cozy and chic space

Lovers!I have to share one of my recent client projects with you all. It is too exciting not to. First of all, the family I am working with resides in the U.K. Seriously. The U.K. How cool is that? Secondly, girl has fabulous taste. Their home is already beyond incredible, so I am starting with a pretty great canvas. The space is already very bright and airy but we wanted to add some fun pattern and color to give the room a pop.
Here is the space currently, so you can get an idea of the incredible canvas I am working with.

Here is my plan for the focal point of the space, the mantle. Lots of color, but obviously all soft hues.

What say you? Are you as obsessed as I am? Do not forget to enter in the Aestate Giveaway. You will be absolutely and incredibly sorry you didn't. Trust me. Love you. Mean it. XOXO
